Insurance Claim Assistance
for Southwest Missouri Homeowners
Most homeowners only file a roof insurance claim once or twice in their entire lives. We handle them every week. That difference in experience matters. Knowing what to document, when to file, what the adjuster is looking for, and what your policy actually covers can mean the difference between a claim that gets approved for the full scope of work and one that gets denied or underpaid.
Teague Roofing Plus has been helping Springfield and Ozarks homeowners navigate insurance claims for over 40 years. After a storm, we inspect your roof for free. We photograph every piece of damage. We put together a detailed report. And when your adjuster comes out, we are there on your roof walking every damaged area with them.
We do not charge you anything for this. Our insurance claim assistance is part of what we do because it helps you get the roof you are entitled to under your policy. If your claim is approved, we do the repair or replacement when your insurance agrees to pay. It is that simple.
Missouri law protects homeowners from unfair claim denials. RSMo 375.420, known as the Vexatious Refusal to Pay statute, allows homeowners to recover additional damages if an insurer denies a claim without reasonable cause. You have rights, and we help you use them. Call 417-883-7663 to get started.

Why Homeowners Trust Teague

We are your roofing contractor, and we know what storm damage looks like on a roof because we see it every week. We know what your adjuster needs to document, what questions they are going to ask, and how to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
We are BBB A+ rated since December 2019, an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, members of the Home Builders Association of Springfield, and MO licensed, with full insurance. Owner Josh Tessmer is involved in every insurance job when needed.

How We Help with
Insurance Claims
Free Storm Damage Inspection
After a storm, we inspect your roof at no cost. We check every plane, every piece of flashing, every vent, ridge cap, and gutter. Hail damage does not always look obvious from the ground. We get up there and find every piece of damage so nothing gets missed when the claim is filed.
- Full roof inspection at no charge
- We check areas the adjuster might miss
- Hidden hail damage identified and documented
Damage Documentation and Photo Report
We photograph every piece of damage and put together a detailed written report. This report includes the location, type, and extent of damage across your entire roof. It is the same kind of documentation your insurance company uses to evaluate your claim. You keep a copy for your records.
- Every damaged area photographed
- Written report with damage locations and types
- Your copy for personal records
Insurance Claim Filing Help
We help you file your claim with your insurance company. We explain what information they need, what to expect from the process, and what your key deadlines are. Missouri law requires your insurer to acknowledge your claim within 10 business days and respond to your proof of loss within 15 business days. We help you stay on top of every timeline.
- We walk you through the filing process
- Key deadlines explained in plain language
- Missouri insurance timelines tracked for you
On-Site Adjuster Meeting
When your insurance adjuster comes to inspect the damage, we are there with them. We walk the roof together and point out every piece of damage from our report. Adjusters are often working dozens of claims after a storm. Having a knowledgeable contractor on site makes sure your claim gets the attention it deserves.
- We meet the adjuster at your home
- We walk the roof and point out every damage point
- We make sure the scope of damage is fully captured
Claim Approval and Repair or Replacement
Once your claim is approved, you receive a payment from your insurer based on the actual cash value minus your deductible. After we complete the repair or replacement, you submit for the recoverable depreciation, which is the remaining amount your policy owes. We help you understand both payments and make sure you receive everything your policy covers.
- We explain ACV and recoverable depreciation
- Repair or replacement completed to code
- We help you collect the full amount your policy covers
Missouri Insurance Protections for Homeowners
Missouri law is on the homeowner’s side. Your insurer must acknowledge your claim within 10 business days. They must accept or deny it within 15 business days after receiving proof of loss. You have five years to file a lawsuit if your claim is wrongly denied. And RSMo 375.420 allows you to recover penalties and attorney fees if your insurer refuses to pay without reasonable cause. We are not lawyers, but we know these deadlines and help you track them.
- 10 business days to acknowledge your claim
- 15 business days to accept or deny after proof of loss
- 5-year statute of limitations to file a lawsuit
FAQ's About
Roofing Insurance Claims
in Southwest Missouri
Here is what homeowners ask us most about the insurance claims process.
No. Our insurance claim assistance is free. We inspect your roof, document the damage, and meet your adjuster on site at no charge to you. If your claim is approved and you choose us to do the work, we complete the repair or replacement at the price your insurance agreed to.
Call your insurance company and tell them your roof was damaged by a storm. They will open a claim and assign an adjuster. Before the adjuster comes out, call us at 417-883-7663 so we can inspect your roof first and document the damage. That way we are prepared when the adjuster arrives.
If your claim is denied, ask for the denial in writing and review the reason. Sometimes claims are denied because of insufficient documentation or because the adjuster missed damage. We can re-inspect, provide additional documentation, and help you file a supplement or appeal. Missouri law gives you up to five years to take legal action if your claim was wrongly denied.
When your claim is approved, your insurance typically sends two payments. The first is the actual cash value (ACV), which is the replacement cost minus depreciation minus your deductible. After the work is completed, you submit for the recoverable depreciation, which is the remaining amount. We help you understand both payments and collect everything you are owed.
Be cautious about signing anything before the adjuster inspects the damage. Some storm chasers pressure homeowners into contracts before the claim is even filed. At Teague Roofing Plus, we inspect and document your damage for free with no contract required. We earn your business by doing the right thing, not by locking you in before you have all the information.
It varies depending on your insurance company and the severity of the storm. After a major event, adjusters are handling hundreds of claims and it can take weeks to schedule your appointment. Once the adjuster inspects and the claim is approved, we schedule the work as soon as materials are available. The entire process from storm to completed repair typically takes a few weeks to a few months.
